The Special Rapporteur on human rights and the environment, Dr. David Boyd, is working to provide additional clarity regarding the substantive rights and obligations that are essential to the enjoyment of a safe, clean, healthy and sustainable environment. He has submitted reports on clean air, a safe climate, and a healthy biosphere, as well as good practices on the implementation of the right to a safe, clean, healthy and sustainable environment. He is now preparing a thematic report that will be presented to the Human Rights Council in March 2021 focusing on human rights, the environment and associated obligations related to water pollution, water scarcity and floods. To assist in his efforts, he is hosting a series of online consultations to gather input from rights holders and other stakeholders. The formal call for inputs, including ten questions, is available here. We would need any written inputs by 10 November 2020.To maximize the possibility of attendance for persons from different regions, we will be hosting four sessions at different times on September 16. Please contact srenvironment@ohchr.org to sign up for one of the virtual consultations in order for us to guarantee access.Topic: Special Rapporteur Consultation on global water crisis and human rightsTime: Sep 16, 2020 07:00 AM Vancouver (16 hrs Geneva)Join Zoom MeetingMeeting ID: 854 7958 5903Passcode: 826608Topic: Special Rapporteur Consultation on global water crisis and human rightsTime: Sep 16, 2020 12:00 PM Vancouver (21 hrs Geneva)Join Zoom MeetingMeeting ID: 882 9019 4080Passcode: 880850Topic: Special Rapporteur Consultation on global water crisis and human rightsTime: Sep 16, 2020 05:00 PM Vancouver (2 am Geneva 17 September)Join Zoom MeetingMeeting ID: 816 8255 8579Passcode: 453253Topic: Special Rapporteur Consultation on global water crisis and human rightsTime: Sep 16, 2020 10:00 PM Vancouver (7 am Geneva 17 September)Join Zoom MeetingMeeting ID: 860 9221 5929Passcode: 715914The sessions will be held in English, although written submissions can be made in Spanish or French.
